We become what we practice

Practice could be literally anything.
Not doing anything or sitting idle is also a practice.

Thinking something is also a practice.

Just doing something meaningless is also a practice.

Getting trapped in some random thoughts is also a practice.

Falling prey to even our slightest temptations is also a practice.

De-prioritising your exercise routine for something more comfy is also a practice.

Basically everything you put your mind to(often) or that occupies your attention is a practice.

I do acknowledge that your practices are significantly determined by your thoughts, that in turn could be influenced by your atmosphere (people, media, energies, and ideas you are surrounded with). Whatever you are consuming(physically, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually) affects your thoughts. Funny! Isn’t it, you are not even getting to choose your own thoughts.

So, watch your thoughts and your little choices you make every second, minute(every single day).

I can understand how difficult it could be for the first time to turn your phone down while you are in the middle of some crazy web series or reels.

I can understand if you are tempted to not get out of your bed to do something which is necessary but doesn’t excite you.

There are million examples or instances like that you could relate to.

I know we are so much conditioned of surrendering to our thoughts and actions which feels easy most of the times. We are so much lost into the patterns, and we’ve become so much addicted to those patterns that it’s not that easy to get out of it(even though you might already be aware about this).

Now, with a countless things trying to take us over, we are are in real critical need of having a combat strategy or in simple terms having a counter practice.

Having a practice where we drive the vehicle of our own thoughts, where we are in complete charge of ourselves(or to whatever extent we can be), where we are aware of what we are thinking or what we are doing in the present moment. Doesn’t this kinda practice sounds familiar, yes and its called mindfulness. And if you want to go one level up and directly train those muscles, try meditation.
